MEO MARÉS MOVED TO A NEW HOME. SIC TOOK IT FURTHER
In 2026, MEO Marés entered a new chapter, moving to a new seaside venue in Leça da Palmeira. For the second year running, SIC was the festival’s media partner, following this new journey from the first announcement to the final concerts.
For six months, SIC built anticipation across television, news, websites and social media, covering the latest line-up announcements, the new location and everything there was to discover at MEO Marés’ new home. The editorial and commercial content produced ahead of the festival generated more than 10 million contacts.
The build-up also had a face: Inês Abrantes, MEO Marés Host, was present across the festival’s key communication moments, from content featuring artists such as Da Weasel to the press conference held at the Francisco Pinto Balsemão building.
When MEO Marés opened the doors to its new home, SIC was on the ground to bring the festival to audiences. There were 27 reports and live broadcasts across SIC and SIC Notícias, including a First News broadcast live from the festival site, alongside daily coverage on the social media channels of SIC, SIC Notícias, Expresso, SIC Mulher, SIC Caras and “Fama Show”.
And the story didn’t end when the music stopped. A 20-minute best-of, a feature on “Fama Show” and digital content extended the experience beyond the three days of the festival.
The result? MEO Marés content reached 5.4 million unique people and generated more than 37.6 million contacts. On digital alone, there were more than 60 posts on SIC’s Instagram, reaching over 1 million people and generating more than 1 million views.
A new home, the same energy and an experience that, with SIC, reached even further.
