SIC, SIC Notícias and Expresso were recognised for ‘Consumer Choice’, in what is the main system for assessing satisfaction levels and brand credibility.

The ‘Five Star Awards’ also acknowledged our brands. SIC in the category of Best General Channel and Expresso as the Best Weekly News Show. The ‘Five Star Awards’ also honour personalities, and this year Cristina Ferreira took pride of place in the television category while Clara de Sousa was ranked top in the journalism category.

The ‘Five Star Awards’ are an evaluation system designed to measure the degree of satisfaction that products, services and brands enjoy among their users. The evaluation criteria consist of the five main variables thought to influence a consumer´s purchasing decision: Satisfaction through experimentation; price-quality ratio; intent to purchase or recommendation, brand confidence and innovation.
